The barristers in Gatehouse Chambers’ costs team are at the cutting edge of solicitor client costs disputes and have been involved in almost all the important cases of the past five years, including numerous test cases in the Court of Appeal. This is a specialist area of the law where technical disputes are commonplace. Members of the team deal with cases at all stages from interim applications and preliminary issues through to assessment. Their advice is often sought on discrete issues such as the compliance of bills with the Solicitors Act or the existence of special circumstances, whether at an early stage of a dispute or for consideration of the merits of an appeal.
