Gatehouse Chambers has many years’ experience advising and acting for attorneys and clients world-wide and much of our work is international in character. We regularly handle cross-border litigation and matters in international arbitration proceedings before off shore first instance and appellate Courts, as well as Privy Council appeals. Members also act as experts in English law in foreign proceedings.
Our barristers have particular experience of working in (and in disputes related to) Europe (including the Channel Islands), the Middle East (including the Gulf States), the US, Latin America and the Caribbean. Several of our members are called to the Bar in other jurisdictions and many more gain ad hoc admission to the Bars of other jurisdictions if required for a particular case. A number of members speak foreign languages including French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Gujarati.
We accept instructions from the UK and international law firms’ UK offices, but also directly from foreign law firms and, where appropriate, clients.
If you would like to discuss instructing us on an international matter, please contact the Practice Management team.
