Property overview

Gatehouse Chambers is recognised as a leading property set by the legal directories, which comment on our strength and depth in all areas of property work at both silk and junior levels. John de Waal QC and Brie Stevens-Hoare QC are both past winners of the Real Estate Silk of the Year at the Legal 500 and Chambers Bar Awards respectively.  Jamal Demachkie also won the Real Estate Junior of the Year at the 2020 Legal 500 Awards.

We act for a full range of clients from private individuals to large multi-national companies and pride ourselves on delivering clear, prompt and commercially astute advice. Property disputes often raise a range of issues and one of our main strengths is our ability to tap into expertise in related areas such as commercial dispute resolution, construction and insolvency.

We are committed to alternative dispute resolution and a number of our property barristers are respected mediators and arbitrators. Our members also frequently appear as counsel or expert witnesses in arbitrations in England and abroad as well as acting as experts for the purposes of expert determinations (see ADR Hub).
