Loss of a Chance claims against solicitors – A refresher and an update

08 Jul 2013, 12:00 am

Since the implementation of the Jackson reforms in April this year, the number of Loss of a Chance (LOAC) claims against solicitors is likely to increase.

This seminar is a refresher on the core principles of these claims, followed by an exploration of the cases dealing with claims against solicitors for LOAC arising from litigation, including:

  • Allied Maples Group Limited v Simmons & Simmons
  • Mount v Barker Austin
  • Hatswell v Goldbergs
  • Allen v Sir Alfred McAlpine & Sons
  • Armory v Delamirie
  • Browning v Brachers
  • Gold v Mincoff and a number of other cases.

John de Waal QC will be chairing this seminar.
