Passing off in the light of Deep Purple

27 Nov 2018, 5:30 pm

The General Court recently handed down judgment in three appeals concerning Deep Purple, one of which dealt with the pure English law concept of passing off and its judgment is binding upon all UK Courts and judges. Deep Purple was represented by Mark Engelman of Hardwicke and Joanna Stephenson of JWSS LLP.

This seminar will deal with the two issues that now remain at large:

  1. The ambit of the Lego System A/S v. Lego M Lemelstrich case – presented by Joanna Stephenson
  2. What deceptive intent adds to a claim in passing off – presented by Mark Engelman
