Manchester Synagogue inquests will become a public inquiry: Helena Drage instructed

Helena Drage has been instructed as Counsel to the Inquests arising from the 2 October 2025 terrorist attack at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester, led by Edward Pleeth of Serjeant’s Inn and instructed by Fieldfisher.

In an announcement in Parliament this week, the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood announced that this investigation will be converted into a public inquiry.

The move will allow for a fuller examination of the evidence, including sensitive national security material that could not otherwise be fully heard in a coroner’s court.
