Brie Stevens-Hoare QC and Oliver Hyams in major victory in fight against “possible fraud” aimed at the elderly
Brie Stevens-Hoare KC and Oliver Hyams are instructed by 27 victims of the ‘possible frauds” perpetrated by Universal Wealth Management, a wealth planning firm that encouraged elderly individuals to set up trusts in order to avoid paying inheritance tax and care home fees.
An investigation into the collapse of the firm aired last week on BBC Inside Out East on BBC One.
Brie and Oliver recently obtained a judgment for those victims in the High Court for around £4 million against various linked entities and individuals and are now instructed to seek to recover the missing monies.
