Ella Conference Launch

Ella Conference Launch

The very first European LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association (Ella) Conference will be held in London from Wednesday 16 September 2026 (evening event) through to Friday 18 September 2026. The programme will bring together professional development opportunities alongside key legal and policy discussions affecting LGBTQ+ communities across Europe and internationally.

Over the last year, members of Gatehouse Chambers have played a key role in establishing the first-ever European LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association. The Association will be chaired by Brie Stevens-Hoare KC, and its inaugural conference will be co-chaired by one of the trustees, Cameron Stocks.

Ella is a pan-European network of national LGBTQ+ lawyers’ associations, law firms, and individuals advocating for equality and inclusion with global partners. The growing network now spans more than 11 countries. Ella was created during a summit of European and other international LGBTQ+ legal associations in July 2025 as part of the Canadian Prisme conference.

Speakers include:

  • Jean-Marc Berthon, French Ambassador for the rights of LGBT+ people
  • Dr. Victoria McCloud, former Judge of the High Court of Justice of England & Wales
  • Dr. Katherine Zappone, former Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Government of Ireland

Tickets will be available for purchase at the end of May.
