Sam Karim KC Appointed Article 2 Investigator

Gatehouse Chambers is delighted to announce that Sam Karim KC has been appointed an Article 2 Investigator by the Rt Hon Alex Norris MP, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice. In this ministerial appointment, Sam will investigate deaths and near-deaths in custody, ensuring compliance with the State’s obligations under Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights — continuing in full-time practice at Gatehouse Chambers throughout.

Sam Karim KC is a leading silk in administrative law, mental capacity law, public inquiries/investigations, and arbitration. He also sits as a Deputy High Court Judge in the Family Division, Administrative Court, and as a Tier 3 Judge of the Court of Protection.
