J2J Commercial Series: Misrepresentation and Fraud

We are delighted to announce the dates of our J2J Commercial Series for 2022. These interactive sessions are aimed at junior commercial litigators wishing to build up their knowledge of some of the issues that come up regularly in practice or more senior practitioners looking for a refresher.

George Eyre and Michael Maris will examine the law of misrepresentation and fraud in the context of contracts for the sale of goods. They will address the how such claims can be established, the most common defences to them, and the remedies which can be awarded. They will also discuss the practicalities of bringing claims in misrepresentation and fraud, including how to prepare a claim to succeed, the evidential hurdles frequently encountered along the way, and important professional and ethical considerations for lawyers who specialise in this work.
