Construction roundup
The last six months have proved a busy time for the Hardwicke Construction team with the summer not proving any let up. The team has recently been joined by Rajiv Bhatt and seen David Pliener nominated at the Chambers Bar Awards for Junior Insurance Barrister of the Year.
The team has continued to put out a number of useful articles and case comments, most recently:
- What’s the damage? Revising the correct measure of loss in negligent surveyor cases
- Losing out on loss of bargain when terminating in reliance upon contractual rights
- Can God create a stone s/he cannot lift? Oral variation clauses
- Halliburton v Chubb Bermuda Insurance case comment
- Haberdashers Askes Federation Trust v Lakehouse Contracts case comment
As the new court term approaches, Sarah McCann will be speaking at Thomson Reuters’ Annual Construction Conference on 12th October 2018 on the topic of insolvency in construction projects.
There is also an exciting seminar programme planned for 2018/19 featuring:
- construction insurance
- construction arbitration
- a whole junior construction lawyer series as part of the J2J programme
