Intellectual property

Intellectual property overview

We deal with all aspects of the protection, enforcement and exploitation of intellectual property and related rights, including patents, designs, copyright, trade marks and passing off, as well as database rights, trade secrets, breach of confidence, and data protection issues.  Our team of IP specialists has considerable experience appearing before all of the UK’s specialist IP courts, from the UK IPO’s Trade Marks Registry and Patent Office, through to the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and Patents Court of the High Court, all the way up to the General Court and Court of Justice of the European Union. Our clients range from sole inventors, individual artists, and SMEs, all the way through to the largest global corporations.

We appreciate that IP disputes often require swift action to be taken within tight timeframes, and in addition to our trial and appellate work, we are often instructed to act in urgent applications for interim injunctive relief, including search and delivery-up orders.

Our IP-specialist barristers are all dual-qualified in science and law, and are frequently instructed in disputes relating to highly complex technologies.
