Mediation overview
Rahim is a seasoned mediator with over thirteen years of experience in mediation practice. Rahim qualified as a mediator in 2005 and has to date mediated in over 32 countries around the world. Rahim undertakes variety of civil and commercial work: complex multi-disciplinary and multi-party mediations, both, in person and online. Additionally, he has undertaken mediations involving intra family business disputes to multi-tier government investment disputes.
As a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council (CMC) in the UK Rahim supports the aims and objectives of the CMC and is one of their most experienced civil/commercial and workplace mediators in England and Wales. Rahim also holds the title of a Certified Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) and is certified by the IMI (International Mediation Institute).
Rahim is known as a thoroughly prepared mediator and for ensuring that all parties feel heard and involved in the mediation process as he approaches his mediations with a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality to ensure that he gains the parties’ trust and confidence in the process.
He has a keen interest in cross-cultural issues that can be a barrier to a settlement and as a graduate of the Harvard Negotiation Master Class in 2014 Rahim brings a unique understanding of breaking deadlock and ‘finding common ground’ for all parties.
Rahim is a speaker and a thought leader in the field of mediation, often advising governments and large organisations in terms of incorporation of the mediation process into their dispute resolution culture. He is a truly passionate supporter of ADR around the world and thus, to enlighten the new world of mediation for the world to reap the benefits he founded ADR ODR International (AOI), a leading international dispute resolution organisation in 2016. The company has since expanded into 36 countries and become the thought leader in progressive dispute resolution and training from international conflict management to negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
As AOI’s Head of the International Training Faculty, Rahim not only teaches mediation all over the world with particular emphasis on the importance of trainee mediators’ listening skills to ensure they understand the parties’ needs (which he feels is a vital skill in reaching a meaningful settlement) but also constantly refines new techniques to ensure that parties feel the process has served their interests.
