In this series of six webinars, Aneurin Moloney and Emma Woods will be providing a back-to-basics overview of how clinical negligence claims proceed from first instruction to trial or settlement, and the key issues that you’ll encounter. We’ll be delving into the substantive law on breach of duty and causation as well as introducing you to the most important procedural elements in the conduct of clinical negligence claims including limitation. We’ll also be providing tips on how to value these claims as well as instructing and getting the most from experts.
This webinar series is a one stop shop for those new to clinical negligence practice and those practicing at the more junior levels.
Aneurin, Emma and Helena will be joined by a senior member of the clinical negligence team at Gatehouse Chambers at each webinar who will provide their insights into the most complex cases.
In the first session, Nye Moloney and Emma Woods will guide attendees through the essential first steps of a clinical negligence claim including:
- Identifying the correct defendant(s).
- Assisting clients in complaints and Redress schemes, and the duty of candour.
- Interpreting and analysing medical records.
- Making best use of the protocol, including tips on drafting Letters of Claim and Letters of Response.
