The concept of “practical completion” is a frequent source of dispute on construction projects. The seminar will focus on the meaning and effect of “practical completion”, completion under standard form contracts (JCT, ICE, NEC etc) and the effect of conclusive evidence clauses.
The seminar will also provide an introduction to the law relating to defective works, including the role and purpose of defects liability periods, the measure of damages for defective works, and the fundamentals of final account disputes.
