Practice overview
Thomas is interested in work across Chambers’ areas of practice, ranging from commercial disputes, intellectual property, to professional negligence.
Prior to pupillage, Thomas gained broad litigation and advisory experience. Most recently, he worked in the Legal Services Department of the University of the Arts London, supporting solicitors on matters including licensing negotiations with multinational counterparties for scientific research, and proposed litigation concerning the protection of cultural and intellectual property. Prior to this, he appeared in court over 60 times as a Solicitor’s Agent, handling a variety of interlocutory hearings. Earlier in his career, Thomas worked as an Intellectual Property Officer at Naomi Korn Associates, advising museums, charities, and SMEs on intellectual property clearance, licensing, and risk management.
In an academic capacity, he actively completes research on nascent issues arising in trade mark law, copyright, and streaming contracts, with work published in several peer-reviewed journals and practical blogs, including the Oxford Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice and the Entertainment Law Review. Also, he has supervised on the University of Cambridge Law Tripos, teaching intellectual property and tort law.
Thomas holds specialist postgraduate qualifications in intellectual property law, having completed the MSc Management of Intellectual Property and the PGCert Intellectual Property Law courses at Queen Mary, University of London. He originally studied Music for his undergraduate at Trinity College, Cambridge, before undertaking the GDL and Bar Course at BPP University and City, University of London respectively.
Alongside pursuing a career at the Bar, Thomas has operational experience in pre-hospital medical environments as an Emergency Responder and member of Medical Response Team with St John Ambulance. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Honorary Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Southwark by the Mayor of Southwark in May 2025.
CSR & pro bono
Thomas was the Founder of Neurodiversity in Law, an organisation that promotes the strengths and talents of neurodivergent people in the legal sector. He is now an Independent Advisor to the Trustees.
He is also a Trustee for the Continuum Choral Foundation, a charity with a professional choir that supports the development of young singers from unrepresented backgrounds.
