Practice overview
Thomas is interested in work across Chambers’ practice areas, with a particular focus on commercial, professional negligence, and costs matters.
Thomas originally studied Music at Trinity College, Cambridge, while also performing and recording discs with Trinity College Choir. He went on to study at Queen Mary University of London on the MSc Management of Intellectual Property and PGCert Intellectual Property Law courses. He then completed his GDL and Bar Course at BPP University and City, University of London respectively.
Before commencing pupillage, Thomas has held several different roles. Most recently, he worked as a Contracts Manager in the Legal Services Department of the University of the Arts London (UAL). He supported solicitors in the team on a range of matters, from successful negotiations on a research project with a multi-billion-pound multinational company to commencing litigation to protect interests in donated cultural property. Prior to joining UAL, he was instructed for a period as a Solicitor’s Agent, appearing in court over 60 times, representing clients in matters ranging from credit hire claims to interlocutory hearings. Also, Thomas was the Intellectual Property Officer at Naomi Korn Associates, providing services to museums and SMEs assisting in their use, clearance, and risk management of intellectual property rights. In an academic setting, he has previously supervised on the Law Tripos at the University of Cambridge, specifically on the Intellectual Property and Tort courses.
Outside of pursuing a legal career, Thomas is an avid volunteer. In particular, he is an Emergency Responder and member of the Medical Response Team in St John Ambulance. He was presented with an Honorary Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Southwark by the Mayor of Southwark for his services to the local community in May 2025.
CSR & pro bono
Thomas was the Founder of Neurodiversity in Law, an organisation that promotes the strengths and talents of neurodivergent people in the legal sector. He is now an Independent Advisor to the Trustees.
