The additional strain placed on the construction sector by COVID is likely to lead to an increase in administrations and liquidations. Following the recent Supreme Court decision in Bresco v Lonsdale (discussed in detail in last week’s Construction Insolvency Brew) this week’s #InsolvencyBrew will take place at 4pm on Thursday, 2 July and will look at how and when IPs can use adjudication as a quick and convenient method of resolving construction disputes and getting money in. Aileen McErlean, Michael Wheater and Helena White will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of adjudication for insolvent estates, creditors and litigation funders.
So armed with whatever drink you need to get you through these lockdown days, join us to discuss the trends and issues arising from the Supreme Court’s decision.
#HardwickeBrews are online, informal Zoom chats aimed at keeping everyone up to date and giving us all a forum in which to exchange opinions and experiences.
Please feel free to get in touch with Usman Roohani (who will be moderating) if you would like to pose any questions or make any comments on these issues in advance of the brew. You will of course also be able to ask questions and make comments during the #HardwickeBrew itself.
As always, wandering children and pets welcome!
