Introducing the new Gatehouse Chambers Scholarship

Gatehouse Chambers is delighted to support a new scholarship with Gray’s Inn.
Reflecting the Inn’s commitment to awarding scholarships on merit, Gatehouse Chambers values talent and potential regardless of background, with a particular interest in those people under-represented at the Bar. The Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding scholarship candidate who has indicated a preference in pursuing a career as a barrister in commercial or chancery areas of law.
As one of the Inn’s new GDL Double Scholarships, this scholarship will offer aspiring barristers undertaking their law conversion course sustained financial support through both the academic (GDL) and vocational (Bar Course) components of Bar training.
“Gatehouse Chambers is absolutely thrilled to partner with Gray’s Inn to establish this new scholarship. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to widening access to the Bar, particularly from under-represented candidates, and supporting talented individuals who may otherwise face financial barriers to entering the profession.”
– Amanda Illing, CEO, Gatehouse Chambers
Partnering with Gray’s Inn to support exceptional talent
To fund most of its scholarships, Gray’s Inn invests income generated from the commercial and residential lettings on its estate, and each year The Gray’s Inn Scholarships Trust (registered charity 313604) donates money to the society to help fund the scholarships programme.
By funding this scholarship, Gatehouse Chambers is supporting the Inn to deliver impactful scholarships for years to come.
“I am truly delighted that Gatehouse Chambers has chosen to partner with Gray’s Inn to offer a scholarship for a student interested in commercial or chancery law. It expands Gray’s Scholarship offering and demonstrates Gatehouse’s commitment to ensuring that those of talent, have the opportunity to flourish at the Bar”.
– Lucinda Orr, Chair of the Gray’s Inn Scholarships Committee
